Meet  the Team

Yadira

For those of you who I haven't met, I am Yadira owner of Vanity Hair Studio.

My hairdressing career began in the year of 2009, When I was just 17 years old working as an assistant at a local Hudson Valley salon. As I began my career in the salon industry, I quickly knew that I had found my passion. As my passion for hair grew quickly I focused on education going to some of the most presti institutes in New York like The Redken Exchange & Bumble and Bumble University. After assisting in that same salon for 3 years I was ready for a change & was craving more for myself & my career. That is when I found my forever home at JAG Hair Salon which was located in this same building where we are located this present day. July 2022 marked 10 years of being in this place myself and my team get to all call home. JAG gave me everything myself and my career needed to get where I am today. An opportunity, a chair of my own & all the stepping stones that led me to today owning my own business the last 5 years. I spend 5 days out of my week behind the chair, but as all business owners know it is a 24/7 job. As my true love is being behind the chair creating, I enjoy the business aspect just as much. Creating content & creating an environment where everyone feels their very best are at the top on my list of priorities. I am a firm believer in female empowerment, & in creating a life full of dreams & opportunities. I take pride in every little detail in the studio that represents what my team and I have built. Vanity Hair Studio was designed to empower, and to bring out the very best in everyone who walks through our doors.

FAVORITE THING TO DO AS A STYLIST?

I love to color, to transform & enhance the natural beauty of every client who sits in my chair.

WHEN I'M NOT AT THE SALON YOU CAN USUALLY FIND ME...

Spending time with my husband, family & friends. As much as I enjoy and love being in the salon, having an amazing support system & my family values are equally as important to me.

WHO IS SOMEONE YOU ADMIRE?

My parents. They came to this country at a very young & have shown us the true meaning of hard work & what love truly means. They have paved the way for my siblings & I and have always taught us that the sky is the limit. I am the strong woman I am today because of there support & values they instilled in me.

SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

Creating memories. I love to enjoy life to the fullest & make everyday count. Creating memories, traveling, a good laugh & good food. Every day is a gift, and should be treated as such.

Carmella

My name is Carmella, I am 31 and have been in the beauty industry for 15 years already. Throughout my years as a stylist, I have continued salon education regularly. The style of my work varies from classic men womens haircuts and color services - to the most detailed, time consuming, creative coloring and hair cutting. My favorite part of any service is blow drying and styling to see my work come to life. I am lucky enough to have retained most of my clientele from within the last 15 years, which makes my guests feel more like friends and family to me. I truly put 110% into every guest that sits in my chair, whether it’s your first session or you’re 15 years in. Not only is this my career, but it is also my passion and creative outlet.

Lindsay

There is no greater joy than being able to see my clients happy , and feeling beautiful after they’ve been in my chair. I find such purpose in every day I’m with my clients being able to help them see and feel how gorgeous they truly are! I am from Hyde Park , and currently live in Poughkeepsie with my two children! I started my hair journey in 2005 where I attended Dutchess BOCES for cosmetology, and what an amazing ride it has been since then! I then went on to attend and graduate from Capri in Newburgh NY. Since then it’s been an amazing journey. I learned from some of the best hairstylists in our area, some of who are the best friends I’ve made in my life. We’ve shared knowledge and experience together and what a gift it has been! I am a Schwarzkopf and Redken trained color professional. I’ve learned so many fabulous techniques and tips along the way through classes and training provided from their companies. I also specialize in special occasion/ bridal hair styling. Over the years I have learned so many amazing styles to provide to my clients. Learning from fellow stylists, and attending classes to learn some of the best techniques in the industry. It has given me such joy to be able to be a part of the most special day my clients can have, and I cannot wait for all of my special brides to come! Laughs, a ton of love, and the best service I can provide is what you’ll receive while you’re in my chair! Thank you to all of my current, AMAZING clients, and all to come!

At one point in my career I was previous salon owner, since then I have simplified but still enjoy my every day life in the salon. I specialize in short hair cutting and enjoy doing color & perms. I always continue education along with the Salon team and am always excited to learn new things. My chair is always open and welcome to all clients

Gina

I started doing hair in 1980. I love being creative and enjoy all the connections I’ve made over the years. I am truly blessed to have made a long lasting and impactful career out of this industry and even more so to have made so many friends along the way. It’s also been my pleasure mentoring the next generation of salon owners and incredible hairstylist over the years.

Before starting in a salon I spent six months at an advance school called Jingles in NYC honing my craft. The school was based out of London England. I continued to go back to this school for several weeks for over a span of eight years to eventually become a Hair color specialist.

In the beginning of my career I started as an assistant to the owners of Jonsef hair salon in Pok. Where I eventually earned my own chair and found my passion for color and became a specialist in coloring .

In 1987 I open my first salon called Outlooks in hair design with a small and talented staff. It was in 1988 that I was trained and became a Framesi hair color educator for 8 yrs. . I would travel over five states and educate other hairdressers on hair coloring. Teaching beginning classes to advance classes. I would work hair shows whether it be backstage or on the platform.

In 1992 I went into a partnership and started JAG hair and color Co. in 20 years we grew a small salon into a large staffed full service salon. With talented stylists, nail artists, and massage therapist.

In 2012 (5yrs) I moved, downsized, and renamed JAG hair salon with some new staff and a fresh outlook. We had a beautiful boutique salon a comfortable atmosphere with a close knit group of an extremely talented staff  2017 after 30 years of owning a salon I stepped away.. I decided to simplify my life and concentrate on what I do best…beautiful hair. I am now a self-employed chair renter in what was my old salon but is now Vanity Hair Studio! I am very lucky to work along side such incredibly talented, motivated professionals, who are the best in the business!

With over 40 years of experience and a vast amount of advanced education and being a color educator myself , I still have a passion for hair and truly love my craft. I am blessed by those that I have worked alongside and all the wonderful clients who have entrusted me with her hair and those that I call friend.

My hair and makeup career started in 2005 where I attended Dutchess County Boces, I then moved on to finish my education at Capri Cosmetology. After attending Capri, I went on to work for MAC Cosmetics where I was trained by some of the best professionals in the industry! I absolutely love making my clients feel beautiful. During my time there I realized how much I still enjoyed doing hair , and wanted to incorporate the two. I decided to work behind the chair as well as offer makeup applications to my clients! I also specialize in bridal makeup, and went on to do bridal parties and travel on location for weddings. It has become so fulfilling to be able to work with my clients behind the chair, and also provide makeup services as well! I absolutely love being in the salon environment and there is nothing I enjoy more than connecting and building lasting relationships with my clients! I cant wait to continue to grow my clientele and all of the new clients I’ll meet!

Alyse

I began my hairstyling journey in 2003. At that time I had no set intention on actually becoming a full time stylist. My intention was to go to school for music. What I didn’t know is how much I would grow to love hair and how good I could actually be doing it.

In the first 5 years I went from assisting, to managing, and then to owning. I also started sub-teaching hair at the trade school I learned from. I have taken many classes to further my skills in cutting, styling and coloring at The Redken Exchange in NYC.

After a couple years of owning I realized that was not where my passion was. I sold my salon, started doing photo shoots + fashion shows, and networked a part time job in Manhattan. All while still working in Dutchess County.

With almost 2 decades of experience, I would say the best part of being a stylist today isn’t just about doing hair. It’s about the healing it brings and about the connections I make with others. Art is my gift and one I truly love to share.

Savanna

Hi, I’m Savanna! I have been in the beauty industry for over 10 years, but my journey as a stylist has only just begun. During this time, I remained quite busy bettering myself & my future by attending John Jay College in Manhattan for a degree in Forensic Psychology. Along with this milestone, I owned and operated a successful clothing boutique in Beacon, NY for several years. With all this under my belt, I recently decided that my passion was in the art of hair and have pursued becoming a stylist full-time for the last two years.

My current specialties, amongst others, include blow drying and styling, hair coloring and keratin treatment. I have immersed myself in classes and training over the last two years, and this coming fall I will be attending Vidal Sassoon for advanced hair cutting training. Staying current to upcoming trends and keeping my guests in the loop is something I take pride in. From a thorough consultation, to a polished blow dry and style, I will always give my all to create the look that you desire. I can’t wait to see you in my chair!

Briana
